Rape at Atlantis in Nantes: suspected of having leaked the images, the security guard banned

Arrested on Wednesday December 11, this security agent is suspected of having leaked video surveillance images, after the rape of a vulnerable 25-year-old man in the toilets of the Atlantis shopping center in Saint-Herblain, near Nantes, on Friday November 22. In the video, which made the rounds on social networks, we see the suspect and the victim entering the toilet. The images come from a mobile phone which filmed the security guards' screen.

Violation of the secrecy of the investigation

For the victim's family, the broadcast of this video was a real shock. A second shock after the trauma of the rape. She requested the closed session during the hearing for immediate appearances, this Friday, December 13, even though the defendant requested the dismissal. The 23-year-old security guard will be tried on January 24, 2025 for “violation of privacy”, “dissemination of the recording of images relating to the commission of willful harm to the person” and “violation of the secrecy of the investigation”. He was placed under judicial supervision pending his trial. Until then, he is prohibited from going to the Atlantis shopping center, from coming into contact with the victim, and prohibited from carrying out any activity related to security.
