The goal is to “open a dialogue.” Several associations including L214, Sipe and the AJA are organizing a gathering in front of the Galeries Lafayette from Grenoble (Isère), Saturday December 7, 2024.
The participants in this gathering, which aims to be peaceful, wish to denounce the sale of clothing and accessories made of animal fur.
The rally is scheduled to take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Saturday.
“Outdated and barbaric practice”
Sandra Krief, co-president of the Animalist Party, explains to news Grenoble that the objective is to target the Lafayette group. “By attacking the Lafayette groups, we are calling out brands like Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Zappa, Gérard Darel which sell products with animal fur,” explains Sandra Krief.
It is also a question of highlighting the inconsistency between the ban on the production of animal fur in France and the continuation of its marketing through importation.
“It is an aberration to allow such a trade which mistreats animals with outdated and barbaric practices,” underlines the activist.
Sandra Krief explains that the fur is extracted from rabbits or live chinchillas having their hair pulled out.
Stating that “the objective is not to blame the buyers”, the co-president of the Animalist Party adds that “the Lafayette group has an ethical duty and they must implement an anti-fur policy.
