The first of two Champions League days is behind us and we have reached the middle of the week. So that you can start your day well this Wednesday, here is the breakfast news with everything that was so important in the football world yesterday.
In recent months there has been repeated speculation about Joshua Kimmich’s sporting future, as his contract with FC Bayern expires next summer. The German international was reportedly targeted by PSG and Flicks FC Barcelona, among others.
But a change for the German national player is now probably off the table. As the French L’Equipe reports, the negotiations between Bavaria and Kimmich are said to be in the final phase.
A club source told L’Equipe: “To leave the club he must feel that the project that awaits him is superior to that of Bayern and that he has more guarantees of winning titles. I don’t think Barcelona or PSG are stronger than we can be in this respect.” It is therefore certain that the veteran will stay at the club.
Although the new head coach has not yet been found at the Hamburg sports club, they have decided to make changes to the professional squad. The Rothosen announced on Tuesday that Moritz Heyer and Levin Öztunali would not take part in first team training “until further notice” and would instead be integrated into the U21 team.
This decision was particularly surprising for Heyer, as he had been a regular player at Hamburger SV for years. One could have expected that he would be able to gain new hope after Steffen Baumgart’s departure.
On paper, Manchester United have two strikers, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, on whom they have spent a total of over 115 million euros. However, they are only partially satisfied with the two so far, which is why Ruben Amorim did without the squad’s only two centre-forwards in the starting line-up in his first game.

For some, this can already be understood as a sign that the Portuguese is demanding a new striker who better suits his game idea. According to Sky, the focus should be on Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. According to the pay-TV broadcaster, the English record champions are interested in signing Bayer’s top striker Victor Boniface.

With Dortmund and Stuttgart, two German teams are once again in action in the premier class. The top game of the day takes place in Liverpool when the slot team hosts Real Madrid at Anfield Road.
