Catherinettes, gingerbread in the shape of a little pig, a livestock fair, mulled wine and chestnuts… are ready to continue the traditions.
Catherinettes, gingerbread in the shape of a little pig, livestock fair, mulled wine and chestnuts… The Sainte-Catherine fair falls on November 25. For its 729th edition, the millennium fair is inseparable from the slaughter animal competition, organized by Elvea Franche-Comté (associated breeders and buyers) and the Union of Charolais breeders of Haute-Saône. The prizes will be awarded from 10:30 a.m. under the marquee on Place Pierre-Rénet, including, among others, the Grand Prix de la Ville de Vesoul. The auction will then begin at 11 a.m. Around ten breeders will be present, with around forty cattle. The Comtois horse will also be in the spotlight, with the final of the departmental equine scoring competition, Place Pierre-Rénet at 10 a.m. It will bring together the agricultural high school of Vesoul and the rural family houses of Combeaufontaine, Fougerolles and Montbozon. In the afternoon, a presentation of Comtois horses will be offered as well as a show.
The competition for the most beautiful Catherinette hat will begin at 2 p.m. at Place de l'Église Saint-Georges. The Catherinettes will present their hats, each more surprising and original than the last. The results will be announced from 3:30 p.m., with the presentation of gifts.
Bus shuttles are provided from the Pontarcher esplanade parking lot: pick-up at the “Super U” stop and drop-off at the end of avenue du Durgeon, towards the Edwige Feuillère theater. The shuttles will operate all day from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a shuttle every 20 minutes.
