Yonne: storm Bert blows hard and deprives 2,700 homes of electricity

Storm Bert spared neither our region, 8,700 homes were without electricity this Monday morning in Burgundy, nor our department, 2,700 homes woke up without power in Yonne. Blame it on winds of up to 90 km/h. Enedis sent around fifty technicians to crisscross the department to restore power, reinforcements were called to Côte d'Or. Puisaye is particularly affected, as well as the municipalities of Chevannes, Beauvoir and Fournaudin.

Firefighters mobilized all night

Firefighters were mobilized throughout the night, mainly to clear public roads blocked by trees or branches. They carried out more than forty interventions in around 25 municipalities. Certain operations have been delegated to the road maintenance services of the departmental council or to town halls. This midday of Monday, November 25, seven departments in remain on orange alert for violent winds. The Yonne remains on yellow alert according to Météo France.
