The Loire will be in the spotlight in the next exhibition scheduled from November 27 to December 20, 2024 at the Le Dôme theater in Saumur (Maine-et-Loire). This exhibition will highlight the historical, cultural and natural wealth of the Loire, through a series of drawings and installations. Created by two local artists Nicolas Jolivot and Paul Moreau.
Two local artists
For four years, author-illustrator Nicolas Jolivot went for walks along the Loire to draw and tell about the islands, depicting their colorful atmospheres throughout the seasons. First around Saumur, then from the source to the mouth of the river. He took the opportunity to also draw what has changed along the Loire in almost two generations, since his childhood in the Loire region.
Convinced that two-person exhibitions can constitute an interesting graphic dialogue, he wanted to join forces with the engraver and sculptor Patrice Moreau. Who, too, devoted part of his work to the Loire, but in a more refined way, to capture the shapes of the river and the rhythm of its vegetation with beautiful blacks enhancing the white of the paper, subtle embossings and branches , collected on the shores, reworked with elegance.
Practical. From November 27 to December 20, 2024 at the Dôme, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The exhibition will also be open to the public during the shows. Free
