Some 63 departments were placed on yellow alert this Sunday by Météo-, for the risk of violent winds.

While a large part of France went through a significant period of extreme cold and violent winds at the end of the week, the meteorological agency Météo-France issued a yellow alert for violent winds, targeting 63 departments for the day of Sunday November 24.

In detail, the departments concerned by this yellow vigilance are as follows: Ain, Allier, Ardèche, Ariège, Aube, Aude, Aveyron, , Cantal, Charente, Charente-Maritime, Cher, Corrèze, Côte-d'Or, Côtes d'Armor, Creuse, Dordogne, Drôme, Eure, Finistère, Haute-Garonne, Ille-et-Vilaine, Indre and Indre-et-.

Gusts up to 100 km/h

Then come Isère, Jura, Loire, Haute-Loire, Loire-Atlantique, , Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Lozère, Maine-et-Loire, Manche, Haute -, Mayenne, Meurthe-et-, Meuse, Morbihan, Moselle, Nièvre, , Oise, Orne, Pas-de-, Puy-de-Dôme, Pyrénées-Orientales, Hautes-Pyrénées, Rhône, Haute-Saône, Saône-et-Loire, Seine-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres, , Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Vendée, , Haute-Vienne, Vosges and Yonne.

“This Sunday, the wind strengthens considerably in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. Gusts reaching or even exceeding 100 km/h at altitude and on the Basque coast through surges are likely. Thus, the level of vigilance could be revised upwards, towards orange,” warned the meteorological agency in its forecasts.

Note that the rise in temperatures, which already began on Saturday, will continue throughout the day this Sunday, with remarkable mildness and maximums that can approach 20°C in the north and 25°C in the Basque Country.
