“I learned about my dismissal from an external organization“, reports Nordine Khelif, then educator of the association for the protection of childhood and adolescence in the Somme (ADSEA 80).
The person who worked at the Les Chaumières d'Amiens home explains that he received a message on his answering machine from occupational medicine on Thursday, November 14. She told him the cancellation of his appointment. The person told him: “your appointment was canceled by your employer following your departure from the workforce“. Less than a month after being laid off on October 21.
News which was confirmed to him by a registered letter of dismissal the next day. The letter notifies this decision to “inappropriate behavior with his team“, reveals Nordine Khelif. Reasons which were previously presented to her during an interview with the management of the association, on November 8, following her dismissal.
Reached by telephone, Isabel Dos Santos, director of the childhood and family center at ADSEA 80, explains that “a right to alert was launched by a member of the CSE“, in relation to the alleged motive.
Questioned, Jacky Cretel invokes “serious facts“against Nordine Khelif. According to this member of the CSE, “he manipulates ADSEA problems” on his dismissal. He speaks of a serious difference between the latter and “one of his colleagues with a severe disability. He allowed himself to molest him.“ Mr. Cretel specifies that the latter was on sick leave following this episode. He also mentions “a chain of very serious events” with several colleagues.
He reports that an internal investigation is underway. After the serious facts were revealed, Jacky Cretel said:not being able to answer for employees” when we ask if complaints have been made against Nordine Khelif.
A few days after testifying about the acts of violence he allegedly suffered, the employee retracted his remarks. The management mentions “a climate of fear“and claims to have”evidence” against Nordine Khelif on other events.
The latter refutes by evoking “false allegations” and “invented facts”. “They want to smear me because I made the report“.
He said he provided evidence against the alleged facts during the meeting, following his dismissal on November 8, during a prior meeting. “I have never had a problem with a colleague.“
Before his dismissal, on October 21, he said he sent an email to the director and the labor inspectorate, in order to relay problems concerning the reception conditions of young people and the working conditions of employees. In a previous article, he reports photos of water infiltration in a bathroom, of a missing tile in another. But the meeting will never take place.
In a press release, the Somme department states:that an unannounced visit – inspection visit to the Picardy educational center was carried out urgently on 10/31/2024 by the department's services.“
The departmental management adds “that a letter was sent on November 12 to ADSEA 80 specifying the urgent interventions to be carried out within a maximum of 8 days upon receipt of the document: restoration (tiles and furniture) and cleaning of the common areas and toilets. The effective implementation of these injunctions is of course subject to increased monitoring by the Department's services.“
Management responds that it has undertaken work to respond to “all departmental injunctions“. She specifies that “orders are committed“and”evidence will be provided to the departmental council” in the days to come.
For Nordine Khelif, it’s “a first battle“won. It was important”for the conditions of placement of young people. I see that things have changed a lot. I'm delighted with it.“Now a second fight begins for the educator. “JI will do everything to show that everything I said was not a lie.“For this, he is currently in contact with a lawyer.
