This year too, a celebrity special from “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” will take place as part of the RTL fundraising marathon. In the first part, comedian Cindy from Mahrzahn alias Ilka Bessin (52), comedian Ralf Schmitz (49) and “Tagesthemen” presenter Ingo Zamperoni (50) and rapper Bushido (46) compete to win one million euros. The latter has made negative headlines several times in the past.
“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” – Controversial rapper visits Günther Jauch
Bushido’s previous connections to organized crime and its controversial song lyrics have repeatedly caused discussions in the past. In his 2007 song “Times Are Changing,” he even mentions Günther Jauch and the “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” format. The song says “Screw Günther Jauch, I’ve already cracked the million.”
Bushido is now showing himself more and more with his family and has undergone an image change. There was even a documentary about his life on the RTL streaming service RTL+. So it’s no big surprise that he’s now taking part in “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” However, not all fans of the show like this.
“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”: Viewers take to the barricades
Opinions are divided on the official Instagram account of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” While some “just tune in because of Bushido”, for others this is a reason not to watch the RTL show at all.

Some viewers vent their anger on the Instagram post:

- “Since when did RTL offer criminals a platform? “It doesn’t work at all.”
- “Bushido? Serious now? Anyone who doesn’t switch off… It’s a shame, otherwise I would have liked to have had the other guests.”
The first part of the RTL format “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” can be seen immediately after the opening of the “RTL donation marathon”. The second part will be shown on the screens on the same day, but at a later date (10.30 p.m.). Between the two editions, the station switches to presenter Wolfram Kons, who, together with a few other celebrities, presents the aid projects of the “RTL donation marathon”.
Since the first celebrity special of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”, only three people have won the million: Oliver Pocher, Thomas Gottschalk and Barbara Schöneberger. Will that change now? You can see this on November 21st from 8:15 p.m. on RTL.
