Libya fails to reach the African finals

The Libyan national team failed to reach the 2025 African Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held in Morocco, after falling into the trap of a goalless draw with its guest, the Benin national team.

The Libyan team did not succeed in achieving the victory that would have given it a pass to the tournament, while the Benin team succeeded in snatching the qualifying card for the finals, participating in it for the fifth time in its history and the first since the 2019 edition.

The Benin national team raised its score to eight points, occupying second place behind the leading Nigeria team, while the Libyan national team raised its score to five points in fourth and final place.

In another match in the same group, Nigeria ended its qualifying campaign by losing to Rwanda 1-2.

The Nigerian national team took the lead through Samuel Chukwueze in the 59th minute, before Mutsinzi Njie equalized for the Rwanda national team in the 72nd minute.
In the 75th minute, Innocent Chuni scored the second goal for Rwanda.

Nigeria’s national team’s score froze at 11 points at the top of the standings, while Rwanda’s national team raised its score to eight points in third place, with the difference in direct confrontations behind Benin.
