The jack broke when he was carrying out repairs under his car: a young man of 22 dies crushed by his vehicle

Drama in Franche-Comté. While he was repairing his vehicle, a 22-year-old boy died after finding himself trapped underneath in a town in Doubs, in Pouligney-Lusans. The accident occurred after the jack failed, according to information from France 3.

An investigation quickly concluded

The events took place early in the afternoon, shortly before 2 p.m., rue des Perrières. The victim wanted to work on his car to change the exhaust. To do this, he raised his vehicle with a jack and slipped under it. It was at that moment that it gave way, blocking the 22-year-old young man underneath.

The victim's mother then rushed to the front of the house, managed to extract him and began cardiac massage, helped by a fire operator on the phone.

But once the emergency services arrived on site, namely the firefighters as well as the SMUR, they not only noted the death of the young man, who was seriously injured in the head and who was unable to be resuscitated.

In total, 16 firefighters were mobilized to the scene, according to local media. An investigation was opened by the Roulans gendarmerie, but the soldiers have already completed their investigations: they concluded that it was a domestic accident.
