Drama during a fight between young people: a 17-year-old teenager shot dead, what we know

During a fight which broke out in the city center of Rumilly, in Haute-Savoie, Sunday November 17, 2024, a firearm was drawn. The toll is very heavy: one dead and one seriously injured.

A 17-year-old boy killed

It was at 4:30 p.m. that the scene occurred according to Le Dauphiné Libéré. The brawl involved young people from Rumilly, and others from Teppes, a district located in Annecy. Our colleagues explain that a 17-year-old teenager, from the first town mentioned, was shot in the head. One of his friends was, for his part, injured in the chest and airlifted in absolute emergency. Le Dauphiné indicates that he is 18 years old, when France Bleu states that he is 20. Son pronostic vital was, according to the two media, still engaged on Sunday evening.

France Bleu reports that several shots were therefore heard in a very busy area, and in particular by childrengames located near the scene of the deadly fight. Our colleagues announce that at least five individuals were involved in this brawl.

Open investigation

Following this terrible tragedy, an investigation has been opened for homicideas announced by the Annecy deputy prosecutor. For the moment, it is impossible to determine the motive for this bloody encounter between young people. “We do not yet know the reasons for this brawl.but in any case, there is no reason to jeopardize the lives of these young people,” responded Christian Dulac, councilor of Rumilly, to France Bleu.It's very complicated to experience things like that.“
