the establishment evacuated twice in two days

Already evacuated for the first time on Tuesday, November 12, around 6 p.m., the Félix-Mayer high school in Creutzwald experienced a new bomb threat less than 24 hours after the first. This Wednesday, around 4 p.m., a phone call made to the school secretariat, reporting an explosive hidden within a building, required the evacuation of the students present as well as the teachers. The day before, the call had been doubled. The Creutzwald gendarmerie brigade was also the recipient of the message. There, there was talk of two bombs hidden within the high school, even though the vast majority of students had already deserted the premises. Only the interns and members of the educational team were still there.

An open investigation

Twice, the gendarmes, supported by the soldiers of the PSIG – Gendarmerie Surveillance and Intervention Platoon – from Creutzwald, were mobilized in large numbers to undertake all the necessary checks before allowing the students to return to the premises. Hoaxes that the police hardly appreciate. The commander of the Boulay- gendarmerie company calls “to put an end to these false alarms”. “This mobilizes a lot of personnel to the detriment of other victims,” recalls squadron leader Halfon. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the calls and find their authors.

As a reminder, these malicious calls constitute an offense punishable by up to 2 years of imprisonment and a fine of 30,000 euros.
