Tuesday was a trying day for the Indomitable Lions. Having fallen almost 3 hours behind the planned schedule, it was at 2:20 p.m. that the special Camair-co flight which transported the players and their sports and administrative managers took off from Yaoundé. In just under 5 hours, and the tarmac of Oliver R-TAMBO international airport had the privilege of seeing the machine land. It was exactly 8:04 p.m. local time, an hour less in Cameroon.
After a few minutes spent on customs formalities, the group, which was welcomed among others by Moumi Ngamaleu, headed towards their den at the Sandton Hotel. This institution, which offers a chic setting, should allow players to quickly recover by hitting the green. The Orlando Stadium which will serve as the setting for this match on the 5th qualifying day of CAN 2025 is located half an hour from the den.
The meeting begins this Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. Meïganga time. The central referee will be the Moroccan Jalal Jayed.
Due to the late arrival on Tuesday evening, the Indomitable Lions were unable to train. As in the match against Zimbabwe in October, the players will perform their range without having participated in collective routines. With the absence of Zambo Anguissa and Carlos Baleba, new players will be introduced into the midfield. Without training together, this can be a dangerous trap.
