RB Leipzig hardly has any chance of reaching the knockout round of the Champions League. At Inter Milan, the pointless Saxons suffered their next defeat. The ticker to read.

Milan – The pressure is increasing at RB Leipzig. The Saxons were unable to win their last four competitive games and instead suffered three serious defeats. Coach Marco Rose and the RBL team have to deliver. Marcel Schäfer, Saxony’s sports director, confirmed this after the 3:4 (2:1) at 1899 Hoffenheim.
The East Germans are far from their goals, especially in the Champions League. There were four defeats in four games. 1:2 (1:1) at Atlético Madrid, 2:3 (1:0) against Juventus Turin, 0:1 (0:1) against FC Liverpool, and then RB Leipzig also had to beat Celtic Glasgow 1: 3 (1:2) beaten.

The result: zero points so far and the dwindling prospect of the knockout phase of the premier class, which will be played for the first time this season due to the new mode. Accordingly, the pressure is increasing internally – especially on Coach Rose, who is a native of Leipzig. “We, and I emphasize we, have to find answers. We now have to deliver, stick together and stay united,” said RBL boss Schäfer after the spectacular defeat in Sinsheim: “We simply won’t be able to continue playing football this season if we take the lead. We have to change that as quickly as possible.” The former Bundesliga professional criticized Leipzig’s style of play, which in his opinion was too reserved. Schäfer: “RB football is about defending forward and wanting to score more goals.”

The reigning Italian champions Inter Milan are waiting this Tuesday. The third-placed team in Serie A celebrated a 5-0 win at Hellas Verona last weekend. The squad includes former Bundesliga professionals Henrikh Mkhitaryan (formerly BVB), Marcus Thuram (formerly Gladbach), Marko Arnautovic (formerly Werder Bremen), Hakan Çalhanoğlu (formerly Bayer Leverkusen) and Benjamin Pavard (FC Bayern). The RBL team around national player Benjamin Henrichs, on the other hand, has to do without the injured top performers David Raum and Xavi Simons (both ankle problems) as well as the long-term injured Austrian midfield strategist Xaver Schlager (cruciate ligament).
