A plinn, performed by the Lorient bagad, rose upon the arrival at Moustoir, this Saturday November 9, 2024, of FC Lorient players before their match against neighbors Guingamp. A Breton derby which promises to be beautiful, on the field as well as in the stands. The party has already started. Many young people, flags in the colors of the Merlus but also the Breton flag, welcomed the players.
A moment always appreciated as for the U17s of Châteaulin Football Club (CFC) who, at half-time, will take part in the challenge. The club, already at such a celebration two years ago, is not unhappy to take part in this derby. “It’s a source of pride for the club,” says Noé, right back of the Châteaulin team. For this challenge, he is motivated. “The goal is to score as many goals as possible.” Which does not fail to make François and Yannick, the two coaches, smile: “This year, we are going to try to be skillful”.
A 3-1 or 4-2 victory
For this first sold-out match of the season, the Merlus, undefeated at home, will be able to count on loyal supporters. Monique, Henry, Mickaël and Nathaël came from Saint-Gonnery to attend this Breton derby. “We have friends from Guingamp present, we will try to get together at the end of the match.” Scarf, jersey, the quartet is betting on a victory for Merlus: 3-1 or even 4-2. “In defense, it’s too light,” comments Monique. She is a fan of Panos Katseris. “I love his game.” What they also like is the atmosphere. As Mickaël notes, “there is no change compared to last year”.
