The mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape, Alexandre Vincendet (Horizons) filed an appeal with the administrative court in order to annul the decision of Bruno Bernard (EELV/Les Écologues), president of Sytral Mobilités, relating to the removal of 37 traffic stops. bus to Rillieux.
The routes of five bus lines have been modified to bypass the New Town.
After urban violence and two TCL buses burned on October 31 and November 1, the New Town is no longer served until November 11 inclusive.
For Alexandre Vincendet, “it’s a double punishment” for residents already victims of last weekend’s incidents.
The “excess of power” request filed by the City relates in particular to two specific points. The City attacks on “non-compliance with the obligation of continuity of public service […] We would add that the failure to maintain the continuity of the public transport service is all the more serious as the population of the new town rarely has alternative modes of transport.
Finally, City Hall points out “the seriously disproportionate nature of the measure given the circumstances […] This is a collective punishment of residents for whom public transport service is essential.”
