Aurélien Tchouaméni, victim of a twisted left ankle with Real Madrid against AC Milan on Tuesday evening (1-3), should miss a month of competition according to COPE. He is therefore notably out of the Blues' next two matches, against Israel and Italy in the Nations League.
Aurélien Tchouaméni will not be in the Blues' next matches. Tuesday evening, the evening turned out to be nightmarish for the Real Madrid midfielder, who is struggling to convince and it is therefore not his performance against AC Milan that will help. Guilty of lax marking in front of Malick Thiaw on the corner of the first goal conceded by his team (12th), he also lost a ball full axis benefitting Alvaro Morata for 1-2 (39th). Replaced at half-time by Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid and Blues midfielder underwent examinations this Wednesday which revealed a “sprained left ankle” according to an official Real press release.
Nearly a month of absence for Tchouaméni
According to information from COPE confirmed by RMC and Le Parisien, Tchouaméni will be absent for around a month while Real, as usual, has not indicated a length of unavailability for the one who suffered the whistles from the spectators of the Santiago Bernabeu. This injury therefore marks his withdrawal from the last two matches of the Blues during the group stage of the League of Nations (Israel on November 14 at the Stade de France and Italy on November 17 at San Siro) while Didier Deschamps will reveal his list this Thursday, without his vice-captain.
Heavily criticized in Spain, notably by the daily AS which revealed that Tchouaméni had recovered only 10 balls in 4 Champions League matches played. It is possible that, on the Blues side, N'Golo Kanté but also Adrien Rabiot, fresher with OM, will be called up on Thursday for the France team's matches. Aurélien Tchouaméni will have to be patient while the national team will seek to validate their ticket for the quarter-finals of the League of Nations while they are currently second, one point behind Italy and 5 points ahead of Belgium two days before the end of the group stage.
