“Mylène Farmer, shadow and light” on 2

Unpublished report dedicated to Mylène Farmer…

Broadcast on Laurent Delahousse's show, “8:30 p.m. on Saturday” of the report: “Mylène Farmer, shadow and light”.

Presentation from the press release:
“At a time when storytelling on social networks is omnipresent, she cultivates freedom and discretion, with a universe of her own. “8:30 p.m. on Saturday” traces the journey of this multifaceted artist, both author, composer, performer, producer and actress.”
A report by Louisa Ould, Vincent Barral and Ghislain Deleval.

Several speakers talk about Mylène and her career.

Very interesting to listen Woodkiddetail the creation of sublime stage images for How beautiful the dawn is on the tour Nevermore :
“The idea, when we worked on the album (The Holdeditor's note), is that she asked me to work on the visuals. In fact, we made a digital 3D replica of her. We scanned her… We scanned Mylène Farmer. We put it in a big machine – you won't be able to see these images – and we made these images which are the visuals for the album. And we made a film which is projected on the screens behind her (for How beautiful the dawn ison the show Nevermoreeditor’s note). We recreated Mylène's iconic hair from Libertinethe knot and the ponytail and we made her into this kind of priestess who is heading towards this kind of apocalypse. Since we're at Mylène Farmer's, we still need a little bit of apocalypse and drama. (…) There is the very sensory idea of snow. She says, “wrap me in marble” in this song. There is this idea of something very icy with this kind of marble that reveals itself under the snow. (…) Nevermore is very raven. We can't miss it. Each shot, we tried to slip in a little of the hidden crows. And since we're in the crow theme, we gave it wings. With Mylène, it's very easy to be inspired.”

The stylist Olivier
Theyskens
made some revelations regarding the costumes for this show:
“Mylène had some very precise words which remained until the end. The idea of the crow. The desire to bring back Libertine. If we think of Libertinewe see the 18th century look again. Then we move on to Without counterfeitingwith a delirium around the window which is also a tribute to Thierry Mugler's costumes from the 1989 tour. In one of the last scenes of the show, which is the moment where she sings Disenchantedwe imagined this red look which is a crystalization of extremely luminous reds. So she's like a gem. And, she is surrounded by dancers who are in much more Victorian outfits with raven masks. Eventually, Nevermoreit's a bit of a return to the sources of certain fundamentals of Mylène's universe.”

Testimony from the singer Santa who, as we know, appreciates Mylène and offers a very gentle cover of Disenchanted.
