Brive holds up despite its indiscipline
Valence Romans made a lot of play, but it was Brive who scored a second time after half an hour of play. Van der Merwe completed a superb combination in touch. This was the only moment when Brive was in the lead on the scoreboard.
The visitors paid for their chronic indiscipline. Da Silva received a logical yellow card after a long succession of Brivista fouls in the scoring area. Carbonneau thought about scoring a trick attempt at the siren but the video canceled it. 19 to 14 for the Checkers at half-time.
