Pro D2 – Romans crushes Brive

Pro D2 – Romans and Brive faced each other as part of the 9th day of Pro D2 this Friday, November 1st. At the Stade Georges Pompidou, this duel offered a superb match to the spectators. The locals took a 5-point lead before rolling out in the second half to win 42-19.

From the first minutes, the two teams put on a pleasant show with a very sustained pace. Lhusero opened the scoring in the 7th for the Checkers by concluding a superb offensive initiated by Moura. We only had to wait until the 10th minute to see Brive come back with a try from Zenon following a breakthrough from Ferté in the opponent's 22m.

Brive holds up despite its indiscipline

Valence Romans made a lot of play, but it was Brive who scored a second time after half an hour of play. Van der Merwe completed a superb combination in touch. This was the only moment when Brive was in the lead on the scoreboard.

The visitors paid for their chronic indiscipline. Da Silva received a logical yellow card after a long succession of Brivista fouls in the scoring area. Carbonneau thought about scoring a trick attempt at the siren but the video canceled it. 19 to 14 for the Checkers at half-time.
