“4 operations and 40 radiotherapy sessions”: Matthieu Lartot recounts his terrible memories to overcome his knee tumor (ZAPTV)

Like Nicoletta and Alexandre Kominek, Matthieu Lartot went through the barnA Sunday in the countrysidethis October 20. The opportunity for the sports journalist to evoke his memories of chemotherapy when a malignant tumor had been detected in his knee joints.

Two years to become one of the French’s favorite events. A Sunday in the countryside was able to seduce the public thanks to the intimate setting proposed by Frédéric Lopez to collect the secrets of a trio of stars. Many took part in the exercise, shedding a few tears at the mention of a past trauma, like Chris Marques and his fight against illness last week.

This October 20, another valiant warrior took up residence at the Moulin de Madame (Seine-et-) to tell how he overcame two cancers. Matthieu Lartot indeed won his battle against the Crab, while a malignant tumor had crept into his knee joints at the age of 16. The worst possible timing for this rugby enthusiast, supposed to join a sport-study program to consider pursuing his passion.

“A very strong feeling of injustice”

The diagnosis was difficult to make, and the teenager had to endure a first medical error before returning to billiards. The staff of the Pitié Salpêtrière hospital then told him that he “you have to remove the entire knee as a whole.” “The world is falling apart” so for those who dreamed of themselves as Antoine Dupont and who will have to deal with a “massive restructuring prosthesis”. His story, his resources and his placidity in the face of this shock “who calls his whole life into question” were admired by his weekend roommates, Nicoletta and Alexandre Kominek.

Because two and a half years in connection with medicine will pass before the Stage 2 presenter can become independent. “Between the moment I was diagnosed and the moment I came out of this tunnel, there were four operations and forty radiotherapy sessions, chemotherapy, four months in septic wardand this feeling of injustice is very strong”explains Matthieu Lartot, who then decides to put things into perspective. Several years later, he announced his withdrawal from the antennas after the recurrence of his cancer. A new battle fought hard, and won, for the Highlander of Ovalie.
