The Loire department is placed by Météo France on orange alert for rain-floods and yellow for storms and floods this Thursday, October 17.

On the south of the Loire

In the south of the Loire, in particular Pilat massif and Gier valleyand the east of Haute-Loire, the disturbance which remains this morning, combined with the rain-stormy passage at the end of the day will bring the accumulations to 100-110m locally.

On the south-eastern edge of the Loire and Haute-Loire, we have already observed accumulations of more than 60 mm over the last 6 hours.

Rainy-stormy episode requiring particular attention due to heavy rain accumulations during the day in the departments of Loire and Haute-Loire, 24 to 48 hours in Ardèche.

The stormy rain will continue this morning before a possible lull during the day (uncertain), before the resumption of heavy stormy rain in the evening.

100/110 mm on average

The accumulation still remains complicated to predict, it could fall on average 100/110 mm and more than 150 mm in certain sectors.

All of this precipitation can have consequences in terms of runoff, and cause reactions in watercourses.
