An unexpected tragedy shook the city of early on the morning of October 4, when Nessim Ramdane, a VTC driver and father of four children, was coldly murdered. The news of his death plunged not only those close to him into mourning but also the regional football community who considered him a ‘man with a big heart’ and a ‘super dad’.

Nessim Ramdane, in his thirties, was known for his passion for football and his commitment as a sports educator. His life was brutally interrupted while he was working as a VTC driver. Two individuals, including a 14-year-old boy, got into his vehicle for what appeared to be an ordinary errand. However, the ride turned into a nightmare when the young passenger pulled out a gun and shot Nessim, killing him instantly.

Marseille prosecutor Nicolas Bessone clarified during a press conference that Nessim had no links to drug trafficking and that his death was not a settling of scores. The teenager, recruited for a revenge-motivated assassination, mistook Nessim for his intended target. The prosecutor stressed that Nessim was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The disappearance of Nessim has left a huge void in the football clubs where he played and coached, from Endoume to Athlético de Marseille, via Fos-sur-Mer, Carnoux, Saint-Zacharie and Six-Fours -les-Plages. Tributes have multiplied, evoking the loss of a respectful and dedicated man, who knew how to inspire young and old with his ethics and his love for sport.

The Carnoux Football Club, where Nessim left an indelible mark, expressed its sadness and admiration for the values ​​he represented. ES Fos-sur-Mer, one of his former clubs, also shared his emotion, recalling his strong character but also his endearing and respectful side. The district paid tribute to Nessim by highlighting his role as an example, whether as a player, captain, educator or technical manager.

The community continues to mourn the tragic loss of Nessim Ramdane, a man who lived for his family and his passion, and whose memory will remain engraved in the hearts of all who knew him.
