A first Metropolitan Book Fair, between sea and literature – From 10/25/2024 to 10/27/2024 –

Literature takes center stage in the heart of the city, overlooking the Mediterranean, an ideal setting for this event which highlights Mediterranean cultures.
For this first edition, it is Spain that is celebrated. Spanish authors will be present, and a vast cultural program highlights the artistic diversity of the country: a sound and light concert entitled “Contigo”and closing Sevillian ball, the screening of the film Soldiers of Salamis by David Truebaand a exhibition dedicated to the legendary comic book character, Corto Maltese. Two Spanish authors, Juan Díaz Canales and Rubén Pellejero, will preview their new album, La Ligne de vie.

Literary and intellectual meetings

The world of books will be present and will welcome more than a hundred authors in the publishers’ village or at the large bookstore.

THE meetings, conferenceswill bridge these three days of particularly rich programming. Let us cite as an example, a encounter around artificial intelligence with Ludovic Bernhardt and Jérôme Game, a table ronde on the theme of “Wild Worlds” with committed authors such as Stéphane Durand and Raphaël Mathevet, a discussion around Don Quixote in the presence of William Marx, a meeting with Ana Penyas, the first woman to receive the Spanish national comics prize. Also note the presence of the two largest Spanish publishing houses which will be in dialogue with the large publishing house Métailié. Not to mention the many authors present: the Carmen Mola collective published by Actes Sud, Juan Tallón published by Bruit du Monde, Isidro Ferrer, remarkable graphic designer, etc….

The Citadel in music

The Contigo

The musical program also promises to be rich. The “Contigo” concert on October 25 will offer an audio-visual show where music and video intertwine to pay tribute to Spain.

October 26 the program will continue with performances by an a cappella choir, a guitarist and a brass band, before a Sevillian ball which will close the show on October 27. A true cultural and literary journey to celebrate this first edition which anchors the Book Fair in the metropolitan landscape and beyond.
