Man shot in village shop in Kleindöttingen – police are looking for the perpetrator

One person was injured with multiple shots in Kleindöttingen on Saturday evening. The shooter is on the run.

Shots were fired in the middle of Kleindöttingen on Saturday evening – and startled the population. The shots were fired shortly before 7 p.m. A man shot another man in the Turkish grocery store Alfa Market, said Adrian Bieri, media spokesman for the cantonal police, to the Aargauer Zeitung on site a few hours later.

The Alfa Market was still open at the time of the crime. It is located on the busy main street, in the building of the former village butcher’s shop, which closed a few years ago. Kleindöttingen is the largest district of the municipality of Böttstein.

The shooter only entered the store shortly before the crime. A little later he fired several shots at the other man, says Bieri. There were other people in the store when the man pulled the trigger. The police were alerted by residents.

The shooter is on the run, whether on foot or in a vehicle is unclear. The police did not find a firearm. The search for the perpetrator is ongoing and the investigation is ongoing.

Victim with gunshot wounds in hospital

The victim was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. According to Bieri, it was still unclear on Saturday evening how serious his injuries were. Also the relationship between the perpetrator and the victim, whether the victim has a connection to the village shop or was just shopping there.

The police also used sniffer dogs to search for the perpetrator.

At around 10 p.m. on Saturday evening, three forensics employees in white overalls walked into the village shop. A dog patrol with a sniffer dog is also deployed at the crime scene. This was cordoned off over a large area. Traffic was rerouted via neighborhood streets. The Böttstein-Leuggern fire department was on duty for this.
