Head coach Peter Bosz praised both PSV and opponent NAC Breda during the press conference. He thought it was a real match and at times saw his team tap back to last season’s level. ‘At times I sat back and watched the team I saw last year with the fast combination football.’

3-2, still a somewhat tired-looking PSV. Do you agree?
“No, I thought it was a good match in which of course a lot goes wrong and things need to be better. But it was a real match and that was also because of NAC Breda. They put us under pressure from the kickoff, chased us down to the keeper and we had to go full out. When two teams put each other under constant pressure, things go wrong. That comes from the pressure you experience then. All in all, I thought it was a real man’s game, where we sometimes played well under the pressure and created great chances.”

So you thought it was a real match, in which both teams showed themselves?
“We really had to get going. It would have been very different if NAC Breda had retreated around their sixteen-meter area and we had to patiently play the ball around until we scored a goal. This was a real match. I often talk about the early stages, where we fall behind. That happened again now, but this time it wasn’t because of a bad start, because we actually started the game well.”

You do get two goals against, just like the last few weeks where you also got a lot against. How do you look at that?
“In the end it’s all about the three points, that’s the most important thing. We had a midweek game, traveled, more than half the squad is sick and that includes quite a few of the guys who were on the pitch. Then it’s all about one thing: getting the three points.

Did you think this was a typical match after the midweek UEFA Champions League game?
“Yes, certainly not everything went well. In the first half, we lost the ball badly a number of times. The moments when we did switch sides and played under the pressure, I saw great attacks. I also enjoyed the quick throw-in. Or the attack where the ball hit the post from Ismael Saibari. Several times I sat back and watched the team I saw last year with the fast combination football.”

Guus Til is important again today with two goals. How have you watched his performance in recent weeks?
“I thought he was really brilliant today. That first goal, from that position the deep running action is typical Guus. Then he is also very steady in finishing. I actually liked that second one better when he took over with the right and shot it into the top corner with his left leg. With that he is very decisive and very important for us, as he has been for a year and a half.”
