Kees van Wonderen:
We are very happy with the result, the challenge was very difficult because Nuremberg played a really good game and presented us with tricky tasks. On the sidelines it was a restless game for me with little game control. In the beginning we were able to put pressure on the opponent and score the gates in the right moments. Some players showed a really good performance today, for example Ron Schallenberg. The team now feels what we want to play with and against the ball. Today we also have to be critical because we have given away too many options. But in the end we are happy to have won. Now the next heavy opponent is waiting for us with Magdeburg, for whom we have to get a good plan during the week.
Ron Schallenberg:
Both teams wanted to play football, and Nuremberg has a difficult game approach. Therefore, the game was certainly a bit wild in phases, but in principle we can be satisfied. In the first half we played great and scored the necessary goals. Overall, we are now more stable, have lost only one in the past nine games and are closed and compact. Everyone fights for everyone, and when we come over this intensity, it will be difficult for every opponent.
-FCN Chef-Trainer Miroslav Klose:
Congratulations on victory, we saw a good football game. In the first half, Schalke was cold -nosed, has developed clear opportunities and put us under a lot of pressure in the position game with the relocations. We did not come in in the first 20 minutes, had false distances and weren’t handy enough. The stadium also does something with one, but of course we had imagined it differently. Only after the 0: 2 did we become braver, sometimes combined out, but the third goal will get too cheap again because we just stop. This is not possible if you play on Schalke. On the other hand, I was very satisfied with the second half, the opponent had to run more and we were able to lure him into the counterattack. We made too little out of the degrees, but we continue our way and can learn from such games.
