Roschdy Zem, or his real name Roschdy Zamzem, lends himself to the game of the program “Cinema by …” by Canal Plus. Each episode leaves a carte blanche to a personality from the world of cinema to revisit the kind of self -portrait. After a short archive of his beginnings on the stage of the theater Le Ranelagh where he played “An Indian, in the middle of the scene, who has no text” In a play by Israel Horovitz, he left to meet friends and personalities from the profession. “You are the cocktail of all the people you have met, the magma of paradoxes and contrary to all the people you meet”Exclaims actor Raphaël Quenard.

The Franco-Moroccan actor and director evokes his various professional caps, but also his relationship to dance, his search for sensitivity, his fears and his joys by visiting some of the significant figures of his career. An interesting format, although a little repetitive, which allows the fiftieth to draw a panorama of his work. Too bad it fades a little too much in favor of other stakeholders, a surprising contradiction for a self -portrait.
