Europa League: Lyon held in check, Son makes Tottenham happy

Olympique Lyonnais earned a draw (0-0) on Thursday evening in Istanbul at Turkish club Fenerbahçe, during the 7th and penultimate day of the Europa League league phase.

Dominant in the second half, Pierre Sage’s players, stuck in a bad patch since mid-December, were unable to deceive the Turkish goalkeeper despite several opportunities.

The French club is still comfortably installed in the top 8, synonymous with direct qualification for the round of 16. For its part, the Turkish team still remains under threat of an unpleasant surprise.

Son saves Tottenham

For their part, Tottenham brought back the three points from their trip to Germany on the Hoffenheim pitch. The Spurs had the last word (3-2) thanks in particular to a double from Heung-min Son. The English team is on track to qualify directly for the round of 16, while the Germans are close to elimination.
