Faced with the shortage of teachers affecting Senegalese schools, an exceptional measure has been put in place to remedy this situation. The Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, authorized a special recruitment of 2000 teachers, including 1500 for elementary education and 500 for the middle level. This initiative aims to compensate for the glaring shortage of teachers.
Currently, a harmonization meeting on the recruitment of teachers is being held to finalize the terms of their integration. According to ministerial sources, these 2,000 teachers should be operational and available no later than February 15, 2025. This decision coincides with the publication this Tuesday 21 of the results of the Student Teacher Recruitment Competition (Crem).
