Emerson Royal’s injury during Milan’s Champions League victory over Girona on Wednesday night is expected to rule out the possibility of a move away from San Siro in January according to the latest updates.
The Brazilian was named as a starter for the 1-0 victory over Girona in San Siro last night, but was forced off just a few minutes in after picking up an injury two minutes after the first whistle.
According to reports from Matteo Moretto, the injury is expected to keep the 26-year-old out of action for around two months. Milan have not yet provided an official statement on the injury diagnosis.
Emerson Royal injury threatens Milan exit in January
If he is ruled out for two months, then the chances of him leaving Milan during the January transfer window are fairly slim.
Emerson had been linked with moves to both Galatasaray and Fulham, and according to Moretto’s update, the Rossoneri had been due to meet with Galatasaray representatives on Thursday to discuss a possible move.
-It now remains to be seen whether either club will still be interested in a deal for the Brazilian, knocking that he will not be immediately available.
Fortunately for Milan, they already have a replacement lined up, as Kyle Walker has landed in Italy for a medical ahead of his move from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.
