Everton transfer target Emerson Royal is set to “speak to his agents today” as a Goodison Park switch is still an option, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian outlet reported via their website that the Brazilian is “not convinced” by a move to Galatasaray despite current club AC Milan negotiating directly with the Turkish outfit [Matteo Moretto, 21 January].
Fulham are another team that are considering making a move for the former Tottenham defender with the options for a Premier League return being kept “hot.”
However, the report does add that the right-back would “like to stay” with AC Milan rather than join another team.
Emerson Royal would be an interesting transfer for Everton
At the moment, both Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman are more than managing to hold down the right-back spot in David Moyes’ set-up but as both are now entering the twilight stages of their career, it’s evident that a replacement will need to be sourced soon.
Of course, the Toffees do have Nathan Patterson at their disposal but with his recent injury history, it’s unclear whether or not he’ll have what it takes to become a regular feature in Moyes’ set-up.

So, if the price is right for Everton, a move for Emerson could make a lot of sense as he’s very attack-minded and could benefit from having a target man such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin to aim for in the box.
Only time will tell if Moyes chooses to go for the Brazilian but if he does, it’ll no doubt help bolster their defensive ranks and give the Toffees a better chance of retaining their Premier League status this term.
