National team captain Joshua Kimmich spoke plainly after FC Bayern Munich's third away defeat in the Champions League. «The table doesn't lie! We have to admit that we are not a top team at the moment,” said Kimmich on DAZN after the 3-0 defeat against Feyenoord Rotterdam. A top team doesn't lose like that.
“The table doesn’t lie,” summed up Kimmich at the De Kuip Stadium. A place in the top 8 in the league phase and thus direct qualification for the round of 16 has become a long way off for Bayern before the last matchday with the home game against Slovan Bratislava.
“We are definitely leaving too much behind,” complained Kimmich, referring to the poor exploitation of opportunities. And he complained about “how easy” it was once again making it for the opponent to score goals: “We make too many mistakes. The opponent doesn't play us. The feeling is very annoying after such a clear defeat.” But something encourages him: “The group sticks together.”
