Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi recorded his return to the roster of his team, Paris Saint-Germain, after missing the last two matches of the Parisian club, against both Lens and Espalay.
Hakimi tops PSG’s list of summons to face Manchester City, today, Wednesday (21:00 GMT+1), in the seventh round of the Champions League.
Hakimi had missed Saint-Germain’s matches against Lens and Espalay, due to the decision of coach Luis Enrique, who preferred to rest some of his main pillars, most notably Hakimi, due to the latter playing many matches in the recent period, whether with his team, or with the Moroccan national team.
Ousmane Dembélé spoke about the reason for the absence of his colleague Hakimi, during the press conference that preceded the match, saying: “I think Ashraf had a small problem with his hamstring, but it wasn’t serious.” While Enrique had explained in the press conference after confronting Lance: “There is nothing important or serious. He is not injured. We preferred not to take any risks and some players were injured. Hakimi played a lot, so I think he needed to rest.”
