Magesi FC have secured the signing of a Sekhukhune United attacker on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
The Limpopo-based side is currently beefing up its squad in a bid to pull a big fight and move out of the relegation zone. Magesi gained promotion to the SA’s top flight from the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the start of the campaign.
After 12 matches played, Magesi are languishing at the bottom of the log standings with seven points. They have won only one league match, drew four and lost seven times.
Despite struggling to hit top form in the Premiership, Magesi have already won a domestic trophy after beating Mamelodi Sundowns in the 2024 Carling Knockout Cup final.
However, Dikwena tša Meetse have struggled to bring their impressive form in the Carling Cup to the league. As a result, Magesi parted ways with head coach Clinton Larsen and his assistant coach Papi Zothwane.
Owen Da Gama has since taken over the coaching position as he looks to turn the club’s fortunes and survive relegation.
MAGESI RE-SIGN MCEDI VANDALA FROM SEKHUKHUNE UNITED
FATHER Post has established that Magesi signed Mcedi Vandala on loan from Babina Noko to reinforce their attacking options.
-Vandala joined Sekhukhune in July 2024 from Magesi after impressing with 10 goals in the Motsepe Foundation last season.
The attacker returns to his former club after struggling to hit top form in front of goals in his first season at Sekhukhune.
Vandala has featured in six matches across all competitions for Sekhukhune and managed to score only one goal. The 29-year-old will be looking to bring his career back on track and find his goal-scoring form at Magesi.
Meanwhile, this publication also reported that Magesi are closing in on the signing of Thabang Sibanyoni from Mamelodi Sundowns. Sibanyoni was on loan at Richards Bay FC in the current campaign before his stint was cut short by The Natal Rich Boys.
