The world of soap opera loses one of its fervent defenders. Spanish actor Francisco San Martin, known for his roles in the series “Days of Our Lives” and “Love, the Glory and the Beautiful,” was found dead at his home on January 16, reports the American site Deadline, confirmed by several other media.

According to the medical examiner's report, the 39-year-old actor hanged himself at his home in Los Angeles. Of Mallorcan origin and trained model, Francisco San Martin had cut his teeth in several Spanish productions before becoming known in Hollywood for his role as Dario Hernandez in the series “Days of our Lives” in 2011.

“Pepe, what can I say except that I love you. Rest in peace my friend. I wish I had told you more often,” Camila Banus, who played her sister Gabi in the series, wrote on Instagram.

Six years later, he joined the cast of the soap opera “The Bold and the Beautiful” where he played Mateo, a caretaker at the Forrester mansion who finds himself involved in the shenanigans of the evil Sheila. Among his other notable roles, we can note that of Fabian Regalo del Cielo in “Jane the Virgin” or several appearances in “Behind the Candelabra”.
