An ordeal suffered for ten years by the mother of Caroline, Gisele Pelicotthat her ex-husband handed over, unconscious, to dozens of predators, today convicted after a historic trial.
This runs as a common thread in this choral film, directed by Linda Bendali, which also gives the floor to five women and a man, also chemically subjected. The objective? Inform and deconstruct preconceived ideas about “che massive and systemic phenomenon », denounced by Caroline Darian in her book And I stopped calling you Dad and its association #MendorsPas. « It is a public utility documentary, which lifts the veil on a very underestimated social fact and much more widespread in France than we think, insists the forty-year-old, convinced of having been sedated and abused by her father. “IT’S THE PERFECT RAPE”
With courage and dignity, they agreed to tell their traumas openly to raise awareness, to try to “close the book”, or “to put meaning where there is none”. They express their feeling of dispossession, their despair or their shame. Their anger, too, like Katia, who saw her attacker acquitted with the benefit of the doubt: “ It's the perfect rape, which leaves no trace. » Because the only way to confuse the culprits is the sequential analysis of the hair. It is carried out if the victims file a complaint, but the lawyers must request it. However, not all of them are familiar with this procedure. Hence the importance of training them. Just like caregivers, who struggle to identify the symptoms of this submission.
