This is a new record, France having connected 3,135 MW last year. By 2024, self-consumption is indeed confirming its surge, with 1,567 MW deployed (35% of volumes). In total, the total installed PV capacity reaches 22.12 GW.

The electricity distribution network manager Enedis has published the connection figures for the photovoltaic production park for the entire year 2024: it appears that 4,596 MW of solar were connected, including 1,567 MW of self-consumption (35% volume). This is therefore a new record for the PV industry in France. Last year, 3,135 MW were installed. Nearly 240,000 solar installations were connected last year (33,000 more than in 2023), including 227,317 in homes and small businesses. In total, there is therefore a photovoltaic park of 22,123 GW connected to the Enedis network at the end of 2024.
-“These figures confirm a general mobilization for solar energy in France. They reveal not only an increase in volumes, but also a diversification of projects, proof of the diversity of the market and the evolution of needs,” welcomed Xavier Daval, CEO of KiloWattSol and president of the SOLER-PV commission within the SER on a LinkedIn post. It details that the S21 roofing segment (up to 500 kWp) recorded an increase of +85%, the installed volume having doubled compared to the previous year. It now represents 45% of the installed base, confirming its dynamism and attractiveness. On large projects, whether flooring or roofing, this segment also experienced strong growth of +70%, marking a clear rebound after two more difficult years. Finally, the residential segment (< 36kW) exceeds the installed GW threshold (1046 MW). Also note that of the 4,596 MW deployed, only 28 MW were combined with storage.
