More than 3 million euros in donations collected by an online charity marathon for the benefit of Médecins sans frontières

The first edition of the Stream for Humanity fundraiser brought together big names from the French web such as influencers Squeezie and Inoxtag.

The Stream for Humanity charity marathon, which took place over three days on the Twitch platform, collected more than 3.4 million euros in donations for the benefit of Doctors Without Borders, the organizers reported on Sunday January 19. With “more than 26 streamers united for peace”the first edition of this fundraiser brought together, on the live broadcast platform, famous French influencers like Squeezie and Inoxtag.

The goal is to “helping families who are victims of armed conflicts”with particular support shown to “Palestine, Congo, Sudan and Lebanon”according to the organization. Initiated by the streamer Amine (“Aminematue”, 3.1 million subscribers on Twitch), the event took place at the Jean-Bouin stadium in . Web personalities set themselves challenges and appealed to the generosity of their subscribers. This charity marathon concluded with a football match. Donations remain open even if the event is over, the organization said Sunday evening on X.

Before its launch, Stream for Humanity was criticized by certain Internet users, who wondered about the absence of Mayotte or Ukraine among the beneficiaries of this mobilization. The streamer Amine defended himself by saying he was ready to “do things again in the future for different causes”.
