Juventus returns to winning in front of its fans after a wait of 70 days, the 2-0 against Milan counts double: Thiago Motta’s team beats a direct rival for a place in the Champions League, avenges the defeat in the Super Cup, and returns to put their face back in the top four, waiting for Lazio to play in Verona. The one-two signed by Mbangula and Weah in the first part of the second half knocked out the Rossoneri, who after an encouraging first half collapsed in the second. Thiago Motta finds Vlahovic again but only on the bench, welcomes Alberto Costa and still waits for Kolo Muani. “For the Frenchman there was only a bureaucratic mix-up, but it will be resolved this week: we are calm” the director Giuntoli’s reassurances. As announced, Cambiaso starts from the beginning despite the rumors of a monstrous offer from City: “If it arrives we’ll think about it, but for the moment there are no negotiations” specifies the Juventus transfer man. Conceicao is without the great ex, Morata, and chooses Abraham as an advanced reference, supported by Musah, Reijnders and Leao. In defence, however, Tomori plays with Gabbia, one of Juve’s transfer targets. “But he’s doing well at Milan and the coach likes him – Ibrahimovic specifies in the pre-match – he’s one of our players. Walker? He’s done great things, and when there’s someone like him on the market he creates a lot of interest”.

-The pace is immediately high, in the first 20 minutes the two teams have a couple of chances each but are unable to engage the two goalkeepers: Mbangula with precision and Koopmeiners with power do not frame the target, Leao and Reijnders hit a sure shot from the heart of the penalty area but are opposed by Kalulu and Locatelli. Then the goalkeepers take center stage, with Di Gregorio having a great impact on the Rossoneri’s 10 and Maignan blocking Yildiz. On this occasion, however, the Turk suffered a muscle ailment and never returned from the locker room after the break, making way for Weah.

The Bianconeri return to the field furious, the American himself and also Koopmeiners hit the Milan goalkeeper, but the advantage arrives in the 60th minute: Nico Gonzalez serves Mbangula who shoots with first intention, a deflection by Emerson puts Maignan out of action and Thiago Motta explodes in an angry celebration. The goalkeeper calls his teammates in a sort of time-out in the midfield circle to try to wake up the team and Conceicao removes Bennacer for Jimenez, Juve finds the immediate double with Weah who on the counterattack jumps Tomori and deposits it into the net. The Portuguese coach has little to defend and chooses to insert Camarda for Emerson, but the Rossoneri never manage to appear dangerously close to Di Gregorio. Thiago Motta launches Vlahovic and Fagioli for the last ten minutes of the match, Juve manages to manage the ball well and take the double advantage without risking the last, timid attacks of their opponents. The Stadium explodes at the final whistle, also because the last home victory dates back to the first leg derby against Toro on November 9th. Juve rises to fourth place, Milan remains eighth but six points behind the Bianconeri, albeit with one game less.
