80. Minute: Now Manuel Neuer is suddenly challenged! After a sloppy pass from Goretzka, Wind comes from the box to finish. However, Neuer can parry the ball.

FC Bayern – VfL Wolfsburg 3:1 (2:1)

Lineup FC Bayern: Neuer – Laimer, Kim, Upamecano, Davies – Kimmich, Goretzka – Olise, Sané (67' Coman), Coman (76' Musiala) – Kane
Lineup VfL Wolfsburg: Grabara – Fischer, Vavro, Koulierakis, Maehle – Arnold, Dardai (71' Svanberg), Gerhardt – Amoura, Nmecha, Wimmer (71' Wind)
Tore: 1:0 Goretzka (20′), 1:1 Amoura (24′), 2:1 Olise (39′), 3:1 Goretza (63′)

75. Minute: FC Bayern missed the chance to finally put the lid on it. After a squeaky-clean counterattack, Kane gets to the ball, but aims clearly over it. Immediately afterwards, Jamal Musiala comes on for Kingsley Coman.

70. Minute: That has to be 4-1 for Bayern: After a long ball and a big effort from the Wolves defense, Kingsley Coman is completely free, but pushes the ball next to the goal in front of Grabara.

67. Minute: Vincent Kompany changes for the first time. Serge Gnabry enters the pitch. Leroy Sané leaves the pitch after another good performance.

62nd minute: GOOOOOOOOR FOR FC Bayern! The following free kick leads to the next Bayern goal. Olise brings the ball into the middle, where Goretzka is completely blank and, unlike his colleagues in front of him, can put the ball in the goal. Double pack for the midfielder who was no longer needed in the summer!

61. Minute: Coman once again asserts himself on the left side. Wimmer can only help himself with a foul and consequently sees the yellow card.

59. Minute: Bayern don't start as dangerously as they did in the first half, but they are still extremely dominant and let the Wolves run.

54. Minute: Another shot from Bayern and again it's a header. But Kane can't place the ball either.

50. Minute: And the first big chance goes to the hosts again! After a Coman cross, Sané is completely free to head the ball, but puts the ball just wide.

KICK-OFF FOR THE 2ND HALF: Both teams enter the pitch unchanged.

CONCLUSION: FC Bayern are leading 2-1 at the break – and they absolutely deserve it. The Kompany team came into the game extremely strong, but were not rewarded with an early lead. Leroy Sané, among others, only hit the crossbar after a strong individual effort. And when the spell seemed to be broken by Leon Goretzka's goal, the Wolves equalized with their first shot. The fact that Bayern still went into the break with a lead is thanks to visiting keeper Grabara, who let a harmless Olise shot pass.

45. Minute +4: And is actually taken back. It's a very tight box, Kimmich's last contact was definitely with his shoulder. Whether that belongs in the hand is another question.

45th minute +3: TOOOOOR for FC Bayern! And in that Bayern meet again. After a cross from Kingsley Coman, Kimmich is in the right place and nods the ball in to make it 3-1. However, the national player also had his shoulder on the ball. The hit is checked by the VAR.

45. Minute: There are three minutes of added time.

43. Minute: Almost a double blow for FCB! After a hair-raising bad pass from Koulierakis, Kane is free, but is pushed away by Vavro at the last second, so that the Englishman cannot make it 3-1.

Michael Olise brings FCB again in the lead

39th MINUTE: GOOD FOR FC BAYERN!! And FC Bayern is in the lead again. After Leroy Sané won the ball high, Olise simply took a shot from a central position 20 meters in front of the goal – and scored to make it 2-1. VfL keeper Grabara doesn't look good at all when he sees the shot – even if he sees it late. Bayern and Olise won't care.

35. Minute: Now another finale for Munich! Bayern are awarded a free kick from a half-left position from just over 20 meters. And Olise pulls it straight onto the goal. However, Grabara can clarify with a flying parade.

30. Minute: Even though the equalizer came out of nowhere, the game is now much more balanced. VfL is now getting better and better at keeping Bayern away from their own goal and also keeping the ball in their ranks for longer periods of time.

24th minute: Goal for VfL Wolfsburg! Out of nowhere, VfL Wolfsburg immediately countered Bayern's lead. After a nice free kick variation, Amoura gets the ball in the penalty area and flicks the ball unstoppably into the far corner.

20th minute: GOOOOOOR FOR FC BAYERN!! But it doesn't matter, because in the next attack Bayern simply do it without the help of the referee. After Kim wins a header duel against Nmecha, the ball comes to Kimmich, who immediately passes it on to Goretzka. Bayern's number eight marches a few meters through the midfield and then finishes dry from 20 meters to take the lead.

18. Minute: As soon as I say it, Coman dribbles his way through on the left side and serves Kane in the middle. The Englishman aims over the goal, but is clearly hit in the ankle by a VfL defender after his shot. But referee Tobias Reichel decides to continue playing and the Cologne cellar doesn't report either. At least debatable…

17. Minute: The Wolves seem to have survived the initial pressure from Munich. FC Bayern continues to control the game at will, but is waiting for further chances for the time being.

12. Minute: Now VfL can take a deep breath. But Ralph Hasenhüttl's team could easily do without this interruption. After a running duel with Upamecano, Amoura remains lying down and needs treatment, but can continue playing for now.

9. Minute: If the Kompany team continues to play like this, the opening goal is only a matter of time. The guests have so far concentrated exclusively on defense. But FCB doesn't allow the Wolves to do anything else.

5. Minute: FCB is coming in well. All that's missing is the gate. After the first corner of the game, Coman comes free to head the ball at the second post, but only hits the side netting.

4. Minute: Munich's next shot: Kane shoots from a relatively tight angle, but Grabara is able to fend off the ball.

3. Minute: The first chance obviously belongs to FC Bayern. And again Leroy Sané starts like the fire department. Bayern's number ten moves inside in Arjen Robben style and welds the ball onto the crossbar from 20 meters! What a shot…

Update from January 18th, 3:28 p.m.: The teams enter the field. It can start right away. Will FC Bayern continue its winning streak?

Update from January 18th, 3:15 p.m.: It starts in the Allianz Arena in just under a quarter of an hour. Vincent Kompany explains the absence of Musiala by saying that the super dribbler simply did not have enough preparation. Of course, he is still an option as a substitute.

Kompany renounces for now She had to

Update from January 18th, 2:29 p.m.: FC Bayern's line-up is there: And Vincent Kompany rotates four times compared to the Hoffenheim game. Raphaël Guerreiro, Eric Dier, Aleksandar Pavlović and Kingsley Coman have to sit on the bench for the time being. Konrad Laimer, Minjae Kim, Leon Goretzka and Michael Olise start for the quartet in their respective positions. It is also clear that Jamal Musiala will have to wait for his starting eleven comeback.

FC Bayern line-up: Neuer – Laimer, Kim, Upamecano, Davies – Kimmich, Goretzka – Olise, Sané, Coman – Kane

Update from January 18th, 1:55 p.m.: In just over 90 minutes the ball will roll into the Allianz Arena. And FC Bayern's line-up should be there in just under half an hour. Vincent Kompany is spoiled for choice, especially on offense. Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, Michael Olise, Thomas Müller and Mathys Tel: they are all fit, but only three can probably play. Who will Kompany choose?

First report from January 18th: Munich – The start of the new year was a success. After the win in Gladbach, FC Bayern also won their first home game of 2025 during the week. And in an extremely convincing manner! In the end, TSG Hoffenheim was well served with the Kompany team's 5-0 win.

Bayern hunting Offensive record

The bottom line is that FC Bayern have won the autumn championship. Munich are four points ahead of German champions Bayer Leverkusen. And according to Kompany & Co., it should first be expanded. The Werkself only play in the top game in the evening against Borussia Mönchengladbach and could be put under additional pressure with an FCB three-pointer,

And the omens are good: Bayern have never lost against Lower Saxony at home. The Munich team is also on the way to breaking the Bundesliga goal record of 101 goals from their own championship season in 1971/72. In the first half of the season, Harry Kane's offense scored 53 goals. And scoring goals against Wolfsburg has been particularly good for years: in the last 19 games against VfL, Bayern scored 61 goals, i.e. more than three per game.

Who will Kompany bet on against Wolfsburg?

“I think that 90 percent of the job, maybe 99, is the individual quality of the players,” said Kompany before the start of the second half of the season on Saturday (all information about the game) against VfL Wolfsburg. “I have no arrogance about it, no desire to make myself important. They are good players who want to run and perform, who want to be active together in good and bad phases. Then you can achieve certain things.”

After scoring five goals in the last two home games against RB Leipzig (5:1) and TSG Hoffenheim (5:0), the lively goal-scoring should continue against Wolfsburg, who have resurfaced this season.

Especially since some offensive players like Jamal Musiala, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are getting back into rhythm and form after injuries and illnesses, as Kompany said. National player Leroy Sané was in top form as a double packer against Hoffenheim. And who will Kompany bet on against VfL? The Bayern coach is once again spoiled for choice. (dpa/kk)
