An accident occurred on a chairlift at the Astún ski resort, in Canal Roya, this Saturday has caused at least 17 injuries. Apparently, a chairlift has come down due to a cable problem. Four helicopters have been activated: one from Zaragoza, one from Teruel, one from the Civil Guard and another from Navarra. 061 has reinforced all its resources in the area. In addition, all hospitals have been activated to receive the injured, especially the closest ones (those in Jaca, Huesca, Miguel Servet, Clínico Universitario, Royo Villanova and Barbastro). The president of Aragón, Jorge Azcón, and the Minister of the Treasury, Roberto Bermúdez de Castro, were skiing in Formigal and went to the accident site to visit the victims.
