This Saturday, January 18, 2025, the Grand Chancellery and the Official Journal revealed the names of 1,702 winners of the Legion of Honor and the National Order of Merit. This exceptional list honors personalities from various backgrounds – actors, economists, politicians – but also around a hundred artisans who contributed to the rebirth of Notre-Dame de Paris.
Good news for many personalities and artisans from the four corners of France. Saturday January 18, 2025, the Grand Chancellery and the Official Journal revealed the names of 1,702 winners of the Legion of Honor and the National Order of Merit. Among the winners of the special Notre-Dame promotion, Philippe Jost, head of the public establishment responsible for the reconstruction of the cathedral, was named Commander of the Legion of Honor.

Camille Cottin, Mélanie Thierry, Étienne Daho and Laurent Gerra were distinguished as knights. Among the officers, we find notable figures like Odette Bergoffen, former resistance fighter, and Bixente Lizarazu, former world champion. Prestigious titles of commander, grand officer or grand cross have also been awarded to influential figures such as the Nobel Prize winner in economics Jean Tirole, the journalist Philippe Labro and Jacques de Larosière, former governor of the Bank of France. These distinctions celebrate artistic, intellectual and human excellence, while paying tribute to exceptional careers that have marked French society.
