In an interview with the official website this week, Théo Sainte-Luce looked back on the sad performance of Montpellier Hérault against Angers last weekend. He then looked ahead to today’s match against the Principality club:
We are sad with the final result, even more so when we play against a team from ”our” championship against whom we had to take the 3 points. It hurts, of course. As long as there is a glimmer of hope, we have to believe in it. And I’m the first to believe it. When you play for a club and you’re in this situation, if you don’t believe in it, there’s no point in setting foot on the pitch.
Monaco is a very good team in the championship. That said, when we look at our first leg at Louis II, we were not ridiculous and I think we deserved better than a defeat that evening, like in Lyon 15 days ago. We know what we are capable of doing against this kind of team. It’s up to us to give everything to achieve this. Maybe that’s the wrong thing. With regard to the situation and the gears that exist in relation to results and defeats, perhaps we are putting excessive pressure on ourselves. I am convinced that if we had played 100% free since the start of the season, we would not be in the position we are in today. »
-Left back Pailladin sent a message to the orange and blue supporters: “We know it’s not easy for them. We are aware of this. Whatever happens, we will give everything on the pitch, even if sometimes they may say otherwise. We hope that they are still behind us and that they will not give up on us because if they need us to come to the stadium, we need them to support us.”
