The MP for Manche and former Minister of Agriculture Stéphane Travert pays tribute to his successor, Didier Guillaume, who died this Friday January 17 2025, at only 65 years old.

“I want to pay tribute to Didier Guillaume who was my successor at the Ministry of Agriculture. An elected official committed to the left, whose heart beat tirelessly for Dromehis department. Friendly thoughts for his loved ones and those who shared his activist life,” writes Stéphane Travert on his X account.

Native of Drôme

Didier Guillaume was born on May 11, 1959 in Bourg-de-Péage (Drôme). Son of a sheep breeder, Didier Guillaume was a public treasury agent by profession and he became involved in politics. Senator for Drôme between 2008 and 2020, he chaired the socialist group at the Luxembourg Palace from 2014 to 2018.

Under the presidency of Emmanuel Macron, he was Minister of Agriculture and Food in the second government of Édouard Philippe, from October 16, 2018 to July 6, 2020, succeeding Manchois Stéphane Travert.
