From January 16 to February 15, 2025, the population of several municipalities in Ariège will be counted, including Brassac, Vernajoul, Carla-Bayle and Artigat. It is precisely in this last commune that the two agents recruited for each of these four communes followed training led by Mathieu Lorain. This, in 2 hours 30 minutes, gave instructions on how to behave in particular towards reluctant people before releasing them into the wild. “The census agents will travel through each previously demarcated territory and will be responsible for depositing an INSEE notice in the mailboxes of the main residences. The majority, around 72%, will complete the questionnaire via the internet. The others, who are not perhaps not equipped with computer equipment will receive a visit from an agent.”
Mathieu Lorain recalls that the census is obligatory and the mayor of Artigat, François Vanderstraeten adds that this is of capital importance for the municipalities, the State paying its grants precisely thanks to the census.
