Haute-Loire experienced an impressive series of road accidents between this Wednesday evening and this Thursday, January 16 in the morning, largely due to difficult weather conditions. The rain and frost severely disrupted traffic, leading to no less than 16 accidents in less than 24 hours according to the department's fire department report. We take stock of the most significant accidents.
This Wednesday, January 15 afternoon:
An accident between two light vehicles occurred at 4:22 p.m. on the RN88, in Saint-Maurice-de-Lignon. The CIS teams from Saint-Maurice, Yssingeaux, and Monistrol intervened. The incident left two injured: a 6-year-old child and a 20-year-old woman, both in relative emergency, transported to Firminy CH. A 33-year-old man, unharmed, was left at the scene after assessment.
A collision between two cars occurred at 6:32 p.m. on the RD136, in Polignac. The CIS teams from Puy and Loudes went to the site. Two injuries were reported: a 61-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, both transported in a relative emergency to the Puy hospital center.
This Thursday, January 16 morning:
At 2:30 a.m., an accident involving a single heavy goods vehicle occurred in L'Holme, in the town of Coubon. Emergency services from the CIS of Coubon, Le Puy, Brignon/Solignac, as well as the RCH of Puy-Saint-Julien and Loudes came to help the victims. An injured 37-year-old man was treated and transported in an emergency to the Émile-Roux hospital in Le Puy.
Around 7:40 a.m., a single car accident took place on the Route des Vilettes, in Monistrol. It was the Monistrol firefighters who intervened. At the wheel, an 18-year-old man who was injured and rushed to Firminy CH.
Finally, around 7:50 a.m., another car accident was reported on the RD61, in Dunières. Firefighters from the CIS of Dunières, Montfaucon and Riotord intervened. The driver, an 18-year-old young man injured and rushed to Firminy Hospital.
