This January 15, 2025, the tax authorities will pay an average of 639 euros to 9 million French people in tax reductions and credits. Here's how to know if you're one of the beneficiaries.

A great way to start the year. This Wednesday, reports the Ministry of the Economy on its website, nine million households will receive on average 639 euros in reductions or tax credits into their bank account.

Millions of beneficiaries

“With an average payment of 639 euros per beneficiary household, this advance also contributes to preserving the purchasing power of the French people concerned,” hi government site.

Anticipating certain tax advantages, this advance represents 5.8 billion euros, distributed among nine million tax households, for an average of 639 euros per beneficiary.

Automatic transfer

This advance will be transferred this Wednesday to the bank account provided by the taxpayer. The wording to look for on your statements: “ADVANCE CREDIMPOT”

For those who have not provided their bank details, they will receive a check by post by the end of January.

Why am I entitled to it?

You can consult your space on the tax website to obtain details of this advance and if you are eligible.

If you are affected by this transfer, it is because “this advance corresponds to 60% of the total amount of reductions and tax credits declared in spring 2024 for expenses incurred in 2023”.

Note that “this total amount appears on the last income tax notice, received in summer 2024”specifies the Ministry of the Economy. As for the remaining 40%, they will be subject to a regularization in summer 2025.
