“I have always played Sam with great enthusiasm,” says Vanderstighelen. “He was a very versatile character with a strong personality and a big heart.” In recent weeks, her character has been in a coma after being knocked down by her husband’s father Tim (Jeroen Lenaerts). In tonight’s episode he had to say goodbye together with his daughter Hannah and Frank (Pol Goossen), because she did not survive the attack. The message is particularly difficult for Simonne (Marleen Merckx).
In 2013, Sam made her debut in the world of At homethen still as manager of a handyman company. Two years later, she starred in a pivotal storyline in which she searched for her birth mother. What should happen next? The actress wants to delve into another passion: psychotherapy. “I started a Gestalt psychotherapy course in 2016. I noticed that in recent years I felt the itch to make more room for this in my agenda and to further develop myself in this area. This is difficult to combine with a role at At homewhich made me decide to let go of my character Sam.
