François Bayrou announced during his general policy speech a renegotiation with the social partners of the pension reform. But the announcement was considered too vague and not clear enough by the Socialist Party. Juliette Méadel, Minister Delegate in charge of the city, was the guest of France Info to discuss it.
The minister responsible for the city spoke about the doubts of the Socialist Party and their desire for clarification of the situation from the government. She also welcomed significant progress: “They have evolved in a positive and significant way in recent months. I find that they have embarked on a constructive approach, which is entirely responsible on their part because today the government of François Bayrou, which brings together with the contribution of the socialists, can build a republican, democratic approach and not be in the hands of the National Rally”judged the Minister Delegate.
The head of government announced a renegotiation of the pension reform by the social partners. Juliette Méadel thus praised the method used by François Bayrou: the approach of the Prime Minister who “consists of saying 'we listen, we build' is really the right approach”.
Faced with skepticism regarding the chances of success of this renegotiation, the delegate minister calls for respect for “democratic process” : “The democratic process must be respected. There are three months to move forward. Those who have blocked any progress and who cannot play the game of social negotiation will themselves be put in difficulty.”she said. Remember that François Bayrou explained during his general policy speech that if the negotiations do not succeed in three months, the pension reform would be maintained.
